Bernard Fernandez: Arum has starring role in making of Pacquiao-Mosley fight

THE BEATLE and the Godfather were very much evident during a four-city media tour earlier this month, hyping a pay-per-view boxing event that the world might consider a consolation prize, but likely will purchase with gusto because more attractive options are not yet available.

Nonito Donaire Vs Fernando Montiel Fight Results: Changing Of The Guard

Its was touted as the biggest fight in the bantamweight division and for Nonito Donaire’s career it was.  On paper the fight had all the makings of a knockout finish as both Donaire and Montiel have knockout power but most followers of the sport expected a tighter battle except for Donaire.  Back in 2010 when the fight was finalized Nonito predicted he would stop the Los Mochis resident inside of two rounds and stop him he did with a counter left hook that would send Montiel to the ground twitching uncontrollably.  read more...

Boxeo Mundial caught up with Chief Trainer Robert Garcia to discuss the showdown between Fernando Montiel (44-2-2-34KOs) and Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire (25-1-17KOs). "Montiel is a tough guy, and he brings a lot to the table. I haven't had the chance to study him yet and form a game plan. But Nonito is just going through guys right now" Stated Garcia. Donaire made quick work in his last fight scoring a very impressive 4th round knock out earlier this month which marked the third fight under the guidance of Garcia. Things are peaking at the right time between Garcia and Donaire which was evident as Team Donaire executed the perfect game plan which had Donaire executing his money punch (hook) clean and crisp. Timing is everything in boxing and the heading into the biggest fight of his career the timing couldn't be any better. read more...

In checking with a few sources to see who they list as the top Boxer in their pound for pound lists, its unanimous, Pacquiao is the King followed by Mayweather. Again, I stress the only way to truly know is to have both fight one another. That being said, I think it’s only fair to seek out the opinions of others. Here are some of the ranks from various top boxing sources.  read more...
