Pacquiao_vs_mosley_fight_pictures
This will be an addtional to history. History of boxing where a simple Filipino boxer mark a greatest win over the great fighter Shane Mosley. Manny Pacquiao get the other title which bring the Filipinos into higher stand. We are so much proud of him. He is the best fighter of the decade. Now the question is who will be the next man challenge to fight Pacquiao? It would be Mayweather Jr.?

Manny Pacquiao successfully defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title by outpointing Shane Mosley in their 12-round fight in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Judges saw the fight 119-108, 120-108 and 120-107 in favor of the 8-division champion from the Philippines.

Pacquiao now has a record of 53 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.

Mosley, who won several world titles in 3 weight classes, dropped to 46 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw.

Here's a round per-round-report of the fight:

Round 1

Both fighters started the fight warily as they studied each other's style.

Mosley attacked Pacquiao but the latter put up his defense.

Looking nervous, Mosley followed his attack with more jabs. He then threw a left hook.

Pacquiao retaliated with a body punch then threw jabs to keep Mosley away. He followed these with a looping left that missed Mosley.

Round 2

Pacquiao threw a right hook then a left straight.

Mosley threw a right hook which Pacquiao evaded. The Pacman lost a bit of balance in the process.

Pacquiao then connected with a strong left to the body which Mosley received well. Both fighters' heads almost clashed in the process.

As the fight resumed, Pacquiao connected with a right hook which stunned Mosley.

Pacquiao then went to Mosley's body and then the head.

Round 3

Pacquiao then worked with his jabs. He threw a long left but Mosley moved away. Pacquiao threw a left again, which seemingly hurt Mosley.

At this point, Pacquiao was dictating the pace.

He threw a jab and boom! He connected with a powerful left straight that sent Mosley crashing down!

After a few count from referee Kenny Bayless, Mosley stood up. Pacquiao connected with a left again as Mosley moved away. The American then clung to Pacquiao to survive the round.

Round 4

Now aware of Pacquiao's power, Mosley put his hands up for defense.

Mosley was clingling this time, prompting Pacquiao to shove the American away. Mosley slipped down the canvass, and stood up again.

Mosley became wary as Pacquiao stalked him.

Pacquiao tried to look for an opening. He successfully hit Mosley's head and body with several hooks.

Mosley tried to keep away from Pacquiao, boxing his way to safety.

Round 5

Pacquiao kept his hands up as the round began. Mosley looked tense.

When Pacquiao cocked a hand,  Mosley immediately ducked.

Mosley then used his jab to keep Pacquiao at bay. He then connected twice to Pacquiao's midsection, but the Filipino didn't seem affected.

Pacquiao then went back to action, rattling Mosley with a right hook.

Mosley clung and whispered something to Pacman. The referee separated them.

Pacquiao pressed his attack until the end of the round.

Round 6

Mosley seemed to regain his speed in this round, working his way toward Pacquiao with stiff jabs. Pacquiao, however, immediately retaliated with a looping left hand.

Mosley then countered Pacquiao, but the Filipino attacked with a 1-2 and then a left hand lead.

Mosley, once again, clung to Pacquiao as the Filipino pressed with another 1-2 that shook Mosley's knees.

The American again jabbed Pacquiao but the Filipino easily parried the punches.

Round 7

"He can't handle your speed," Freddie Roach told Pacquiao before Round 7 began.

Pacquiao threw left hand leads against Mosley.

Mosley retaliated with jabs but keeps failing to use his longer reach. Pacquiao continues stalking him.

The American tested Pacquiao's body but the Filipino answered with 6 rapid punches, causing Mosley to retreat.

Mosley again connected with a jab, only to receive another 1-2 from Pacquiao. The sound of Pacquiao's punches seemed to reverberate in the MGM Grand.

Round 8

Mosley's face looked already puffy by the 8th round. Pacquiao's face, on the other hand, was left unmarked.

Pacquiao threw a hook, which Mosley ducked. Mosley then came back with a big right hand.

Pacquiao moved forward, easily ducking Mosley's jabs.

Pacquiao threw a punch to the body then unleashed a hook on Mosley's face.

The Filipino was throwing punches from different angle. Mosley had limited answers.

Round 9

Pacquiao_hit_mosleys_face
Pacquiao started the round with a double jab then rushed with a 1-2.

Mosley fired back as his head clashed against Pacquiao's. The referee checked both fighters and then allowed the fight to resume.

Pacquiao wasted no time connecting with his power left. He then unleashed a hook to the body, then again to the head.

When Mosley retaliated, Pacquiao rolled with the punches.

Pacquiao again tagged Mosley with a powerful left.

Mosley connected a double jab as the round ended.

Round 10

Mosley attacked with jabs but couldn't handle Pacquiao's speed. He reeled back from Pacquiao's 1-2-3. Pacquiao used his side-to-side movement to break into Mosley's defense.

Mosley clung on Pacquiao, threw a few punches that had the Filipino a bit off balanced. The American then gave Pacquiao a slight push and this sent the Filipino to the canvass.

The referee apparently didn't see the push and ruled is as a knockdown.  Pacquiao protested.

The fight resumed with an angered Pacquiao upping the tempo.

Mosley held on to survive the round.

Round 11

Pacquiao's face showed grim determination in this round, wanting to end the fight soon.

Strong jabs from Pacquiao sent Mosley to the ropes.

Mosley pushed the action back into the center of the ring but was receiving a lot of punches from the anger-driven Pacquiao.

The American wisely used his defense and survived another round.

Round 12

The crowd inside the MGM Grand was already chanting, “Manny, Manny!”

Mad as a bull, Pacquiao pressed his attack and connected with a right hook.

Mosley then struck Pacquiao with a strong punch in the midsection. This seemed to hurt the Filipino, but Pacquiao was determined to carry on.

Mosley threw body punches against Pacquiao, but was booed by the crowd.

Pacquiao then connected with a left. He then connected with a punch to the body again to the head.

Pacquiao stalked Mosley until the final seconds. But he wasn’t able to knock down the evading Mosley.

End of the fight

The decision was then left to the judges. Mosley went to Pacquiao’s corner to greet the Filipino. The two warriors embraced after a long, hard-fought battle.

Showtime ring announcer Jimmy Lennon announced Pacquiao as the winner by unanimous victory!

Congratulation Manny Pacquiao - Won Unanimous Decision vs Shane Mosley

Pacquiao_hit_mosley_face

Another golden build of success and pride. Manny Pacquiao won unanimous decision over Shane Mosley after finishing the last and final round 12. Mosley was down in the third round and recover it using his running strategy to avoid the punches of Manny.

Manny Pacquiao set the tone for a lopsided decision win after sending Shane Mosley down in the third round with a left straight. The force of the punch sent the 39-year-old Mosley crashing to the canvas as though he had been struck with a baseball bat. From then onwards, Mosley opted to stay away from Pacquiao’sfiring range, a tactic that did not sit well with the audience, who had wanted to see the Filipino become the first fighter to knock the durable Mosley out.

The fight was marred by an atrocious call by referee Kenny Bayless in the 10th round when he ruled a knockdown in Mosley’s favor although it was clear thatPacquiao was just off-balanced. Roach said Bayless came to him after the fight and apologized and Roach readily accepted the admission of guilt. For Pacquiao, it activated a switch button that ordered him to go after Mosley with the ferocity of a cheetah after a retreating gazelle.

“When the ref called a knockdown, I was surprised. I got angry,” said Pacquiao, who went the distance for the third straight time.
In the last two rounds, Pacquiao tried his best to end the fight on a knockout as he went after Mosley, throwing hooks, uppercuts, straights, and body punches. But Pacquiao could no longer find the same opening that resulted in a third-round knockdown. Despite Mosley’s seemingly-uninspired showing, promoter Bob Arum said it was all because “almost every fighter Pacquiao fights becomes helpless against him.”

“It’s difficult to become very competitive with him. Mosley and the others haven’t seen this power and speed. Nobody in their whole experience in the sport has ever faced anybody like
Pacquiao,” said Arum.

Only lucky punch will save Mosley vs Pacquiao

Pacquiao_vs_mosley_fight

'Pacman loss would be like all 79 Navy SEALs vs bin Laden suddenly dying'

MANILA, Philippines - "Sugar" Shane Mosley will need all the luck he can muster if he even hopes to defeat 8-division boxing champ Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao, a boxing analyst said Friday.

Speaking to radio dzMM, veteran sports writer and analyst Al Mendoza said Sunday's fight is such a mismatch that the possibility of Mosley scoring an upset against the reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champ is a nigh impossibility.

"This is really a mismatch. He will be having a hard time landing that lucky punch especially with an opponent as fast as Pacquiao. Tsambang-tsamba na lang talaga. If Pacquiao loses, it's like all 79 Navy SEALs attacking Osama bin Laden suddenly dying," he said.

He said Pacquiao's blinding hand speed will easily overwhelm Mosley. read more...

Pacquiao vs. Mosley Predictions

Pacquiao-workout-photos-2-300x200pacquiao_vs_mosley

The team has gathered and put down our official Pacquiao vs. Mosley staff picks and predictions, as we do for all of the big fights. Does everyone think that Pacquiao will take care of business like he's supposed to, or are there any writers on the site going with the big upset? Take a look at the official Pacquiao vs. Mosley predictions from the crew and see how it all stacks up.

Rich Thomas: Speed isn't everything, but speed plus power is pretty close, and Pacquiao has that. Although Mosley might land the odd hard shot during the fight, I can't see him scoring with the short combo of hard punches he would need to deter Pacquiao. Coping with Pacquiao's lightning fists from all angles will force Mosley to cut his punch output, and if nothing else, that will pretty much dictate Pacquiao landing more leather and outpointing him. The more Mosley tries, the more he will get tagged. read more...

Pacquiao will be the First Fighter to Knockout Mosley , Say's Roach

Pacquiao-vs-mosley-300x199
You might ask on what will be the opinion of Roach from the coming fight of Pacquiao and Mosley. Freddie Roach confidently saying that Pacquiao will be the first fighter who can knock down Mosley. Because of Manny's quick move and strategy, Roach is 100% sure that Mosley will kiss the ground below the 12th round of the coming boxing fight.

Coach Freddie Roach recently arrived from England after training Amir Khan against Paul McCloskey. He revealed in an interview, before heading for the Wild Card Gym to train Pacquiao for his fight against Mosley, that he expects his ward to be the first man to knockout Shane Mosley.

Roach said that when he got back to the gym the day after he arrived he found a Manny Pacquiao that was very hungry for the mitts. So they did 14 rounds without stop. Pacquiao was said to be on fire and happy to have his trainer back next to his side. Roach said that during their training Pacquiao beat the sh*t out of him.

When asked if Manny has ever slipped the mitts and punched Roach, the latter admitted that it happened several times and  fact it occurred six times yesterday. But these punches were not accidental, these were only given by Pacquiao to show to Coach Roach the openings in his defenses and the punches were not hard, just enough to make Roach realize the presence of the opening.

When asked regarding his prediction on the upcoming fight, Roach said that he is looking forward to see Pacquiao become the first ever person to knockout Shane Mosley. He know for a fact that Mosley is a very tough fighter and that he was never been knocked out, that is why he is urging Pacquiao to train hard for this fight, knockout Mosley and make a statement.

Manny Pacquiao’s Pre-fight Statement Was Inspired by Victor Ortiz

Vote_now

Now is the time that Pacquiao inspired by other boxer. We remember that Ortiz was inspired by a few words of Pacquiao. That would be the best reason why Ortiz have enough confident to himself and really love to fight against the great ring warrior.

Manny Pacquiao was touched by Ortiz’s move to thank him for the his win over the then undefeated Andre Berto. After defeating Berto, Ortiz revealed that he received tips from Pacquiao before going to the fight. Pacquiao was said to have told him that he (Ortiz) is more powerful than Berto. His confidence was also boosted when Pacquiao told him that he is as fast as Berto, if not, even quicker than him. He was told to stick to his game plan and listen to what his coaches will advice him to do.

Pacquiao for his part was deeply appreciative of the gratitude shown by Ortiz. His wife, Jinkee, said that if Ortiz was inspired by Pacquiao’s statement before his fight aginst Berto, Pacquiao will also be inspired by Ortiz’s gratitude in preparation for his fight against Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Jinkee was forced to rebook her ticket and left for the US ahead of initial schedule after Pacquiao requested her presence in the US. Jinkee said that she has to provide moral support to Pacquiao and to lessen his homesickness brought about by leaving his home country to do the training at the Wild Card Gym in the US.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley Preview & Prediction

Pacquiao_mosley-ny-pc-300x196

To be brutally honest, Shane Mosley has had exactly one performance in the last 10 years that you could hang your hat on. That was his 9th Round TKO win over Margarito in January of 2009. The rest of his recent track record includes wins over washed-up fighters (Fernando Vargas twice, Ricardo Mayorga) and mediocre contenders (Luis Collazo, Jose Luis Cruz), and losses when he has stepped up to face the best (Vernon Forrest twice, Winky Wright twice, Cotto, Mayweather).

Throw in a disputed win over Oscar De La Hoya in their second outing and the unwatchable stinker against Sergio Mora, and you should be left scratching your head at how in the world boxing fans are supposed to be excited to pay upwards of $50 for a Pacquiao vs. Mosley PPV. But here we are. Boxing fans may be a demanding lot, but we can damn sure be a gullible one, too. read more...

Pacquiao will win over Mosley Say's AC Green The NBA Legend Star

Ac-green-over_pacquiao_vs_mosley201x300

We might imagine if what will be the stand of all promnent people in talking about the big fight of this year 2011 - The Pacquiao vs Mosley Fight. Some other say's that Mosley will win because of his hight, boxing stand and other reason. But most of Filipinos said that of course the very own Manny Pacquiao will win. We all know that the days are coming and we cannot stop it. The big fight will come at MGM Arena. Now, let us know the stand of NBA star.

NBA legend and former Los Angeles Lakers player AC Green picked Pacquiao to win over Shane Mosley when they face off on May 7, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Green said that there is not doubt that Pacquiao will win over Mosley. According to Green, Manny should be able to defeat Mosley.

Green chose Pacquiao despite being an American like Mosley. For him it does not matter where a fighter comes from. The more important issue is who is your favorite fighter and based on that you can tell who will win a fight. Thus even if Pacquiao is a Filipino and his opponent Mosley is an American, Green still picked his favorite and that’s no other than Pacquiao.

Is Green making this statement because he is in the Philippines right now for the Jr. NBA National Training Camp? Personally, I believe that he is a sincere person and that he did not utter that statement only to please the people of his host country. Do you think he is just being diplomatic? read more...

“Wild Card Gym Closed” He thinks Mosley is a Serious Threat” - Freddie Roach

Pacquiao_vs_mosley_fight

Is Roach afraid of Mosley? This will be the big question to Roach as a trainor to Manny Pacquiao. Roach already how hard is Mosley. But still Roach is confident enough that Pacquiao will win the fight.

Roach reiterated that they are avoiding distractions that is why they went to the US. Compared to Baguio, his Wild Card Gym still offers relatively fewer distractions. Still, despite the inconveniences which they experienced in their training camp, Roach is still very satisfied with their current pace.

Accoring to Coach Roach they had a good start, that Pacquiao is very motivated and that his intensity above normal. With the upcoming sparring sessions which Manny Pacquiao will undergo, it is not a surprise that Roach decided to close the gym. For him despite the fact that Shane Mosley is the underdog, he is still a very dangerous fighter, given that he has already accumulated enough experience to provide threat to Manny Pacquiao.

Freddie Roach does not want to take Mosley lightly as seen from his reaction to a reporter who inquired whether it is possible for them to get a coverage of Pacquiao’s training. To this, Roach replied that the gym is closed. Just recently, when they arrived at the Lost Angeles International Airport, Pacquiao was not seen by many as he was sneaked out away from the waiting press and fans who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the boxing superstart. read more...

After Mosley, Who's next?

Pacquiao_vs_mosley_latest_pictures345

This will be the big question of all the people around the world who love to follow of what will be Pacquiao's fight update. Who will be the next man to fight againts the Philippine pride Manny Pacquiao after Sugar Shane Mosley. It would be Floyd Mayweather Jr? Pacquiao say's that if he can fight Floyd, that is the time that he will retire. I see that Manny dreams to fight Floyd. I do not know how and what will happen the negotiation of both parties. Let us still wait of what will be the next.

Before Pacquiao entered the welterweight division, this strata was the most exciting division in boxing. The top fighters could be found in this division such as Floyd Mayweather, Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Paul Williams, Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto. The possibilities of good match ups were endless.

But now that Pacquiao has entered this division, the same excitement has somehow fizzled. This could also be due to Manny Pacquiao himself who destroyed several of these top contenders such as de la Hoya, Hatton and Cotto. While the other top boxers were also destroyed by fighters whom Pacquiao already defeated.

But there is still Andre Berto. This fighter is a dangerous but low-reward fighter which would not be too attractive for a possible Pacquiao opponent. Nevertheless, it would be exciting to see these two slug it out in the ring.

So what is the option of Manny Pacquiao assuming he demolish Shane Mosley? Should he stay in the same division, move up or go back to the lower divisions. Should he grant Marquez a third fight? What do you suggest? Hit the comments.

The pound-for-pound king graciously signed autographs and took time for picture taking to the delight of his fans.

After his workout, Pacquiao and his team came down to Manila to rehearse for a planned after-fight concert in Las Vegas.
