Manny Pacquiao will be fighting Shane Mosley in his next bout. There are reports that Mosley's adviser is set to meet with promoter Bob Arum today to finalize details for a May 7 showdown. Mosley would be picked over Juan Manuel Marquez and Andre Berto. In the meantime, Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to face more legal troubles, making any megafight with Pacquiao seem less and less likely. Read more... Watch Pacquiao vs Mosley Fight

Pacquiao Selects His May 7 Opponent, Arum Stays Quiet
Manny Pacquiao has chosen one of three opponents to be in the opposite corner on May 7 at the MGM Grand Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas. After one sitdown session with Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum in Manila, and second one in Pacquiao’s hometown of Gensan, the two meetings running a combined total of about 90 minutes, Arum told me by phone Sunday morning (Manila time) that Pacquiao picked a favorite foe among “Sugar” Shane Mosley, historical rival Juan Manuel Marquez and undefeated WBC welterweight king Andre Berto. Mayweather wants Khan rather than Pacquiao, afraid?
Why do Floyd Mayweather keep on hiding when talking about his next fight probably to Pacquiao? scared?. How many times that people call for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao but still the camp of Mayweather making non-sense excuses. Pacquiao vs Mayweather would be possible? or yelling this fight would be a big waste of time. However, while Mayweather may be a scared fighter, he’s also a very smart fighter. That’s why he’ll likely end up fighting the young and inexperienced Amir Kahn instead of Pacquiao.
“You have Mayweather who wants to fight,” Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya said. “Amir wants to fight Mayweather. He wants to fight the very best, but obviously right now it’s vacation time.”In the grand scheme of things a victory over Khan would mean absolutely nothing for Mayweather. But in Money May’s own little mind he’d somehow justify it into a reason for not fighting Pacquiao.Love him or hate him, Mayweather is a great self-promoter. You can bet your butt that he would spend every second leading up to a fight against Khan trying to convince everyone in the world that Khan is similar to Manny Pacquiao in nearly everything they do. more on...
What do Roach think if Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao's fight push through?
Many people predicts that Manny Pacquiao next fight would be the best Shane Mosley. There were many speculation about this bout. Yes, many people say's that it is a great bout in compare to Pacquiao Vs Margarito. Now, what Roach opinion about this?
Freddie Roach understands this and welcomes the challenge.
“I think Mosley could be a tough fight. Last year when he beat [Antonio] Margarito, everyone thought he was the greatest thing. Now after the Mayweather fight, they think he’s nothing. I think Shane is a very tough guy,” Roach said.At the end of the day, I’m not sure if Pacquiao can knock Mosley out. However, I know one thing for certain. Manny Pacquiao is a better fighter than Floyd Mayweather Jr.In other words, if Money May can beat Sugar Shane so can Pacman. It’s as simple as that.

Manny Pacquiao's Next Fight: Why Juan Manuel Marquez Is Not It
here is no doubt in my mind that Juan Maunuel Marquez has his place in boxing history. As a Pound for Poundchampion? No. There are way too many impressive people in their prime, on the rise, and like Marquez on the decline.
The fight everyone wants to see is Pacquiao vs Maywether. One thing I am willing to bet on is that this will not be Pacquiao's next fight. Mayweather needs to fight someone as a tune up match before Pacquiao. Someone he can fight with no real risk of a loss. Maybe Mayweather takes KJ Noons up on his challenge. Read more...

Around the Net: Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana Pre-Fight Edition
It's been a little over two years since Amir Khan's stunning opening round KO loss to unheralded Colombian puncher Bredis Prescott. Since then, the lightning fast 2004 Olympian has bounced back to win five in row and establish his credentials as one of the sport's brightest talents. An impressive recovery, though noticeably missing from the Khan's recent conquests is the type of puncher that can test just how far Khan has truly progressed. Is he really an elite talent capable of soon being the man at 140lbs? Or will the Khan's chin hold him back from future greatness? Read more... Watch Khan Vs Maidana Online

DONAIRE BREAKS SYDORENKO'S NOSE
Anaheim, CA:- Nonito Donaire solidified his position to meet Fernando Montiel in spring of 2011 by doing exactly what he said he will do to the former WBA bantamweight champion, Vladimir Sidorenko of Ukraine. "To be honest, I didn't even really go to my plan. The counter-hooks are always going to be me. I wanted to throw a lot of punches," said Donaire, who floored Sydorenko in the first, third and fourth rounds. "As you could see, there were some punches that I could have thrown. Donaire vs Sydorenko: The boxing preview
Nonito Donaire burst onto American boxing scene in 2007 when he scored a spectacular one punch knock out, that was later named a knock out of the year, over a notorious Armenian banger, Vic Darchinyan. Like a bullet a counter hook put Darchinyan down into never-never land. Lightning fast punch was so devastating that the former champion still didn't know what happened to him minutes after it was all over. But the reality of fighting at the lower weight divisions hit Nonito harder than the punch he threw to win an IBF flyweight title. Frustrated with not being able to secure a meaningful fight, even after scoring a knock out of the year on Showtime network, Donaire parted ways with his promoter Gary Shaw and signed with the very best in the business, Bob Arum of Top Rank. It will be a rugged encounter with Armenian Arthur Abraham. Firstly, though, Manny Pacquiao. Donaire vs. Sydorenko - The most awaited fight
This is the most awaited fight of the year 2010. The big fight between the Philippine pride Nonito Donaire and Volodymyr Sydorenko . Let us witness this big ring war. Also in Anaheim, former flyweight world champion Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire (24-1, 16 KOs) fights former bantamweight world titleholder Volodymyr Sydorenko (22-2-2, 7 KOs) for an interim version of the WBA bantamweight title. "Sydorenko is a very tough guy. He is very experienced and he knows how to win as well," Donaire said. "He is there to bring his name up as well in beating me." Sydorenko, of the Ukraine, held the title for three years and made six successful title defenses. That's no easy feat. "He has a different style than I have seen," said Donaire, whose style is also rather different. Whoever wins has been promised a date with current WBC and WBO bantamweight titleholder Fernando Montiel, of Mexico, on Feb. 19.

Look for Khan to fold as soon as Maidana connects with his first big shot
By Scott Gilfoid: If I was a betting man, I would put my money on WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) catching up and knocking out the heavily hyped but totally unproven WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) on December 11th in their fight at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Maidana must blast away at Khan’s weak chin early to get the win
By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) has the power and the pressure to get World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) out in a real hurry when they meet next month on December 11th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, the longer the fight goes the more of a chance that Khan will have to survive long enough to win a 12 round decision. Manny Pacquiao's Thanksgiving list
"Thank you for the 'tarkee'!"- A fan was taped on HBO's Dela Hoya-Pacquiao 24/7 show thanking Pacquiao for the turkey he handed out during Thanksgiving of 2008. It's Thanksgiving Day in the US of A and there's no better holiday- other than Christmas of course- for people to give thanks. In the Manny Pacquiao household, there's plenty of thanks to go around. But Thanksgiving Day is an American thing, and with Pacquiao busy with his congressional duties and basking in the glory of his most recent victory thousands of miles away while the biggest turkey in boxing is still avoiding the possibility of being slaughtered and served up inside the ring by boxing's true pound-for-pound king, allow me to put together a list of people in boxing that Pacquiao owes some thanking. Sergio Martinez Knocks Out Williams: Manny Pacquiao Next?
If a lot of people were surprised last year when an impressive Sergio Martinez lost a majority decision to Paul Williams last year, they must be in total shock today after the Argentinean knocked him into next week in their rematch. The 35-year-old southpaw connected with one of the most devastating punches in boxing history at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Nov. 20. The crushing blow sent the 29-year-old Williams crashing face-first to the mat. The crowd in the arena and millions watching on TV knew it was all over as soon as the typically iron-jaw Williams kissed the canvas because there was no way he was getting up from such a brutal left hand. He seemed to be knocked cold immediately after the punch connected, long before he even started falling downward. Read More... credits: opposingviews.com

Nonito Donaire Vs Volodymyr Sydorenko
Another big fight of the year is the fight between Donaire and Sydorenko which will be held at The Honda Center, Anaheim, California. The Bantamweight fight ring war will be this coming December 4, 2010.
Donaire recently signed a two-fight contract with Top Rank to culminate in the duel with Montiel. However, the bout is contingent on Donaire beating Sydorenko, a former WBA bantamweight king and 2000 Sydney Olympic bronze medalist, and Montiel disposing of his next challenger, likely Mexico’s Alejandro Valdez, on Nov. 20.“I’m super excited,” said Donaire in an overseas phone call from his home in San Mateo, California. “I’ve been itching to face an elite opponent and Sydorenko is up there among the quality fighters. This is a big test for me because I will be fighting as a bantamweight. How I do against Sydorenko will determine if I’m prepared for Montiel. Obviously, if I don’t beat Sydorenko, the Montiel fight is off so for me, losing isn’t an option.”

Why Manny Pacquiao hasn’t fought a top African-American box
In a perfect world, people are 'color-blind.' But this is America. So to expect sports to be devoid of racial prejudices is unrealistic. It's like asking Floyd Mayweather Jr. to simply fight Manny Pacquiao as he did his previous 41 other opponents instead of asking for an Olympic-style random drug testing on top of all his other demands out of nowhere -- it sounds simple, but there's simply more to it. Is the Williams vs. Martinez Winner the Next Pacquiao Opponent?
The Paul Williams vs. Sergio Martinez rematch continues boxing's excellent closing session for the year. Conveniently, it's being held just a week after the Pacquiao vs. Margarito junior middleweight title bout, which was contested at a catchweight of 150 lbs. Even more conveniently, Williams vs. Martinez II is also being held at a catchweight, 158 lbs. Considering that both men seem comfortable at the division limit of 160 lbs, and Martinez holds the real middleweight title of the world, it's odd that the rematch would be fought at a weight less than the full division limit. Odd, that is, if you didn't figure that each man was angling for a chance to land the Manny Pacquiao Sweepstakes, and secure a massive payday for fighting the sport's pound for pound king and major attraction.
